Vaping has become a huge trend in the last few years and it’s no wonder why. It’s a great alternative to smoking, which can be incredibly harmful to your health.

Vaping is the practice of inhaling the vapour produced from heating and vaporizing vape materials (usually herbal blends or e-liquids) in a vaporizer device.

A vaporizer goes by several other names, depending on the context. It may also be an electronic cigarette (e-cigarette or e-cig) or simply a vape device.

The device is made up of four essential components. A tank or chamber holds the vape materials and a coil that heats the materials.

Vape materials come in various shapes and forms. The most common one is e-liquid.
As the name implies, e-liquids are liquid-based products containing herbal or chemical compounds manufactured for use with a vaporizer.

These products are also known as e-juices, vape juices, or vape oils. However, though they are called vape oils sometimes you should avoid vaping oil as it is bad for your lungs!

Besides e-liquids, vape materials may also come in dry herbs or concentrates.

5 Essential Vaping Facts You Need To Know

All Vaporizers Are Not Made Equal

Vaporizers generally come with the same internal components. However, these devices differ fundamentally in design and functionality. The most simplistic vaporizers are called cigalikes.

Cigalikes are first-generation e-cigs designed mainly to help people switch from traditional nicotine delivery methods.

Most cigalikes are disposable. You get rid of the device as soon as you use up its pre-filled vape oil or pre-charged battery. Cigalikes are also incredibly easy to use and relatively affordable.

That makes them excellent for new vapers. However, not great for the environment and therefore we would never produce a disposable/non-recyclable vaporiser or product!

The next generation of vaporizers after cigalikes are called vape pens. These devices look like marker pens, hence the name.

Vape pens feature more advanced features as an improvement to the simplistic cigalikes. Examples include more powerful batteries and refillable liquid cartridges.

Vape pens gave way to even more sophisticated devices, such as vape mods, pod mods, and box mods. These are considered the latest and most advanced vaporizers.

They're noted for their stylish yet minimalistic designs, as well as convenience features like temperature regulation and air control.

All Vape Juices Aren't Made Equal Either

We've already highlighted that e-liquids are the most common vape materials. If you're new to vaping, you should start with these products before considering other materials like dry herbs and wax concentrates.

There are several factors that determine which type of e-liquid is best suited for you.

First, we recommend starting off with low-nicotine levels. This will allow you to get used to vaping without feeling too high.

Next, consider what kind of experience you want to have when using your vape pen. Do you prefer a milder hit? Or do you need something stronger?

You can find all kinds of flavours and strengths of e-liquid. Some are very light while others are quite strong.

The good news is that there are numerous retailers, with the widest range on offer in the US and the most desirable vape e-liquid products can be found there. You only need to sample the seller's e-juices and choose your desired outcome.

However, e-liquids come in various formulations. It's crucial to understand the composition of vape juice before hitting the stores.

Most vape oils contain two base liquids, namely vegetable glycerin (VG) and propylene glycol (PG) and nicotine and flavourings.

Vegetable glycerin is a plant-based substance that boosts e-liquid's vapour production, whereas propylene glycol is a petroleum-derived compound that aids the liquid's flavour-carrying abilities.

Nicotine is the primary addictive chemical in tobacco. Although initially an essential vape juice ingredient, today's vaping boasts many nicotine-free e-juices.
Lastly, flavourings are the specific compounds that give e-liquids their taste and aroma.

These ingredients can be combined in countless ways to create different flavours. For example, if you want to try out a sweet vape juice, combine PG, VG, and sweeteners.

If you prefer something fruity, add fruit extracts. And if you want a savoury vape, go ahead and add something like a roast chicken or black pepper vape!

The sky's the limit when it comes to creating your own customised vape juices.

Vaping Is Big Business

Vaping is a billion-dollar industry.

According to Grand View Research, the global vape market was valued at a staggering USD 15 billion in 2020. The industry was expected to expand at an impressive compound annual growth rate of 28.1% between 2021 and 2028.

Vaping was initially marketed as a better alternative to traditional nicotine delivery systems. However, the practice has now become more like a hobby or lifestyle. That explains the industry’s sustained growth.

If you’re an investor looking for potentially lucrative opportunities, you might consider launching a vape-related venture.

For instance, you could open up a retail store where customers can purchase e-liquids and accessories.

Or you could sell e-cigarettes online. In fact, this is one of the fastest-growing segments of the industry!

5 Essential Vaping Facts You Need To Know

Vaping Won’t Get You High… Or Perhaps It Will

There’s a common misconception that vaping inherently induces a high. Well, this is not entirely true. It depends on the substances that are induced in your vape.

Normally vape devices contain nicotine that gives you an instant buzz or high. But it differs person-to-person, if consumed in limited amounts it gives calming effects to most people.

In some cases, vaping may trigger a mild “head rush” effect. This sensation is caused by the release of endorphins into the bloodstream.

Vaping CBD e-liquids has become an increasingly popular way to take CBD due to its lack of intoxicating effects and fast-acting entry to the body.

CBD vape has also shown great promise at helping to give up addictive substances like nicotine, alcohol and opioids!

Is Vaping Safe?

According to the British Medical Association, vaping is much safer than smoking. It has also been proven to help people quit smoking cigarettes.

In fact, vaping was found to have fewer harmful effects than traditional methods of quitting. This includes the risk of lung cancer, heart disease, stroke, and respiratory illnesses.

This is because there are no combustion processes involved. There is also little evidence of secondhand exposure from vaping.

As long as you follow the recommended guidelines on how to safely use vape pens, you should be fine.

Is Vaping Addictive?

Vaping has become so popular due to its convenience. It allows you to enjoy your favourite flavours at any time. Although some users may feel compelled to vape more often than they would smoke cigarettes, this isn't necessarily the case.

But this doesn't mean that it's addictive. In fact, vaping is not considered to be addictive since it does not cause physical dependence, as long as there is no nicotine involved.

Wherever nicotine is included all the risks and health warnings that go with it are applied to e-liquids and in the UK these are strictly regulated products. On the other hand, e-liquids that do not contain nicotine are great to help stop smoking after cutting down, they are largely unregulated in the UK.

So always choose a reputable company or supplier!

Vaping Laws Vary Worldwide

Vaping may have garnered considerable popularity in the recent past. But the practice remains criminalized in numerous countries worldwide.

To paint a general picture, vaping is legal in North America. The same is true for many European Union countries. However, the practice is illegal in many Asian and South American countries. The situation is even worse in Africa, where vaping laws are generally fuzzy.

Therefore, it's prudent to familiarize yourself with vaping laws on a country-by-country basis. That's especially if planning a vape-friendly vacation.
And while you're at it, try to establish the position of regulators on vaporizers as well as vape materials. Even in countries where e-cigs are legal, local laws may still dictate the specific herbal extracts you can vape.

The Bottom Line

If you're an aspiring vaper, there's a lot to know about vaping before joining in on the craze. As a parting shot, always insist on high-quality vaporizers and e-juices. Also, remember to practice moderate vaping.
